Norjalaissaksofonisti Trygve Seim tuo festivaalilauantaina Logomon Galleria-saliin uuden Helsinki Songs -projektinsa. ECM-yhtiölle levyttävä artisti on tehnyt jo 1990-luvulla yhteistyötä mm. Edward Vesalan kanssa ja kertoo inspiroituvansa erityisesti Suomen luonnosta, arkkitehtuurista, ihmisistä ja tunnelmasta. Seim on saanut monet musiikilliset vaikutteensa idästä – hän on perehtynyt niin vanhan Persian ja Intian kuin arabienkin musiikkiperintöön soveltaen näitä vaikuttimia omaan ilmaisuunsa. Miehen soittoa ohjaa silti valtameri-ilmaston värittämä norjalainen tyylitaju; voimakkaat teemat ja kiireetön melodisuus.

Norwegian saxophonist Trygve Seim brings his new Helsinki Songs project to Logomo. The ECM recording artist has a long history of collaboration with Finnish artists, e. g. Edward Vesala in the 1990s, and describes drawing inspiration from Finland’s nature, architecture, people and cultural atmosphere. Many of Seim’s influences have also come from the eastern direction; he is well acquainted with the musical traditions of ancient Persia and India, as well as Arabian music, and has added touches of these influences into this own music. Nevertheless the backbone of his musical expression is quintessentially Norwegian – oceanic and thematically strong, with leisurely melodies weaving through it.
